Overview: This is an activity in comparing and contrasting two stories, The Three Bears and Abuelo and the Three Bears. The first story is the traditional fairy tale. The second one is a different version of the story with some Spanish words and phrases.

Activity: Read the stories on two separate days. Discuss how the two stories are alike and different. Fill in the charts with your answers.

Follow-up activity: Have the students select another familiar fairy tale. Change the story and rewrite your own “fractured fairy tale.” Some changes they could make would be the names of the characters, setting, events, ending, etc.
