We're hopping right along in Second Grade
this year!!! Greentown Elementary is in
In Second grade we are using the Scholastic Reading series. We've been
exploring how our actions tell about us, becoming awesome super solvers,
teamwork, learning how to express ourselves, finding and using lots of
information, and working on building communities.

MATH
Second grade works with the Addison-Wesley Mathematics series. We are covering
fun skills throughout the year like adding and subtracting whole numbers,
solving word problems, telling time, fractions, counting money, place value,
measuring, and memorizing those math facts!

Our science in second grade is very
"hands-on inquiry". Throughout the year we learn about Life Science
with plant and animal habitats, Weather, Sound, and Earth and Space. We are
learning about our feelings and family in Health. We also study teeth,
staying safe & fit, and nutrition.

Social Studies we work a lot on citizenship and developing good traits as a
