Each member of the bargaining unit shall be entitled to three
(3) days of special leave each school year, with pay, to conduct
personal business, which cannot be attended to except during
the employee’s regular workday. |

A maximum of three (3) days special leave per school year
may be granted to employees. Special leave may be used on either
one-half (1/2), or full day basis. |

The misuse of special leave by an employee shall be grounds
for disciplinary action. |

A member who requests Special Leave the day prior to, or
the day after, in-service or staff meeting, holiday, vacation
day, or the day of a professional development workshop or meeting,
must make the request in writing with reasons to the Superintendent.
Such requests shall be granted provided the reasons are for
good cause. |
