Scholastic Election 2000 - Cast your vote in Scholastic's nation-wide student Presidential poll. Who do you think will make the best U.S. President? Your entire class can vote here, or you can cast your individual vote. Scholastic readers have picked the winning candidates for the last 40 years. You can follow the results through October 18, when Scholastic student election polls are closed. Then check back to compare results with the November 7 election!

The Election Co-nection - It's an election year!!! Do YOU wish you were old enough to vote in the Presidential Election? Here is your chance to vote for a real presidential candidate in the "Kids Co-nect to Elect" activity. On October 24, Kids Co-nect to Elect Day, kids across the country can cast their votes online for the next President of the United States. To participate in this national event, click on the Join Project icon. Then on October 24, click the Kids Co-nect to Elect icon, use your user name and password to log in, and have students place their virtual votes.

Teachers Note: For Kids Co-nect to Elect, students will not need their own user name and password. They can all vote after the teacher has logged in with his/her user name and password.

Be A Candidate Webquest - Also from The Election Co-nection . . . until October 23, students can create and nominate an ideal candidate in the Be a Candidate WebQuest. Anyone can vote for a student-created candidate between October 24 and November 7, 2000. To enter the virtual race, review the nine questions and the links, then fill out the candidate nomination form.
