- Rufus Butler Seder - Kineticards
- The Kineticard (Patent Pending) was originally developed in 1997, and is a novel greetings card that you can send through the mail. The card consists of two parts. The printed card has a curious design that consists of what appears to be a random collection of vertical lines. These lines contain information about six different images, that together form an animation. See the "Dancing Man" here.
- Rufus Butler Seder - Lifetiles
- Around 8 years ago Rufus Butler Seder started developing a unique medium he calls LIFETILES. These extraordinary 'Movies for the Wall' are vast optical glass-tiled murals that appear to come to life, change and move, when the viewer walks or rides by.
He has created works for the Smithsonian Institute, an athletic centre, a cruise ship, several aquariums and other public places and museums.
- Discover Your Eye-Q!
- From the American Academy of Opthalmology. Optical illusions can help us to understand how our eyes and brain work together. This
is because our eyes receive images but it is our brain that interprets them. Often, optical illusions work because we "see" what we expect to see rather than what is really there.
- Afterimages
- An afterimage is what your eyes see after you stare at something for a long time. Stare at the white dots in the pictures on this page. What do you see?
