Hi!  My name is Mrs. Valerie Heban and you can find me here at Greentown School in Room 121. I am excited to be teaching fourth grade this year after teaching first grade for 7 years. 

I am a graduate of Youngstown State University with a BS in Education. I majored in Elementary Education and had concentrated studies in the field of Audio-Visual Media. This included production of different media as well as administering a school media center or library. I later added Kindergarten certification. After becoming a Title I reading teacher here at Greentown, I  added reading certification to my teaching certificate. I completed my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2003 at Ashland University. That was a great experience! 

In my spare time I love to read, go boating at Portage Lakes, and spoil my grandson, Owen. I enjoy digital scrapbooking and working on my website at school.

I am married with four children all who live in the Canton area. Lauren and her husband Damon and their son Owen, Dan and his wife Ehrin, and Corinne and Dennis. Cory is a first year teacher after graduating from Ohio University. I am very proud of her and know she will be a wonderful teacher. Dennis is a part-time student at Stark State College and works full time.  Mr. Heban keeps me pretty busy too!
