child of pain

can you see Me
on my knees
with the tears in My eyes
I see you
in your room
as you cry in the night

can you hear Me
as I scream
as the nails pierce My hands
I hear you
tearing through
all your walls of silence

Can you feel Me
as I breathe
the last breath of My life
I feel you
all you do
just to live through the night

I have been there
your despair
is well known to My soul
I have bled
I have tread
down your life-breaking road

I have scars in my hands
My child I understand

in My scars
let your heart
find healing once again
with My blood
I bought love
for the child of pain

I'll hold you in My hands
My child I understand

can you see Me
I'm reaching
out to take your hand
come to Me
find release
My child I understand

Isaiah 53:3-5 - "He was ... a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering ... Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows ... but he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed."
