Overview: Having studied the planets, their order from the sun, and temperatures as related to the sun, the students will be asked to place pictures of the planets in the correct Super Grouper container.

Standards: Physical Sciences, Grade Two, The Solar System. PO #1 Differentiate between the stars and the planets. PO #13 Explain how atmosphere and distance from the sun relate to temperatures on the planets.

Activity Steps:

  • Explain and demonstrate the sorting activity to the class.
  • Each student will complete the activity by dragging and placing the planets into the appropriate Super Grouper.
  • Each student will print his/her work.

Assessment: Student must correctly place 7 of 9 (77%) of the pictures.
