Overview: On completion of the Reading Unit, Snapshots, the students will be asked to sort a group of pictures into Super Groupers labeled "Realistic Characters" or "Fantasy Characters."

Standards: Develop comprehension, thinking, and problem solving skills, Grade Two, PO #1 Students will identify character traits. Use books and other printed materials to obtain knowledge, Grade Two, PO #3 Students will identify genre and the characters which support the various classifications.

Activity Steps:

  • Explain and demonstrate the sorting activity to the clas.
  • Each student will complete the activity by dragging and placing the character pictures into the appropriate Super Grouper.
  • Each student will print his/her work.

Assessment: Student must correctly place 8 of 10 (80%) of the pictures.
