The site is an electronic version of a booklet published by the Ohio Secretary of State’s office. The site is linked to information about Ohio statehood, government, and residents, as well as key facts about the state’s geography, education, business, and arts.

Ohio's Historic Canals, Canal Society Of Ohio
Ohio’s Historic Canals lists locations in Ohio where remnants of Ohio’s 1,000-mile network of canals, constructed between 1825 and 1847, may be seen. Have students visit the Web site to see the lists for the Ohio & Erie Canal and the Miami & Erie Canal. Linked pages provide a map of Ohio canals and an introduction to the Canal Society of Ohio.

Indian Artifacts Page
Indian Artifacts, a Web site that features pictures from the Ohio Historical Society, shows artifacts of the Adena people of early Ohio. Visitors to the Web site can read about and view photos of an Adena mound, a pipe, model home, and flint spear points. This Web site is part of Rivers Online and Ohio’s Scenic Rivers Programs.

Identify your prehistoric Indian artifact and learn more about how it was used. Includes a timeline of the archeological time periods of Ohio's prehistoric Indian cultures.
