The Great Virtual Olympic Adventure - This project is designed to acquaint students with the Sydney 2000 Olympics, and to generate excitement about the forthcoming Games. Participation is not dependant on Internet access: tasks may be completed in a manner suitable to the user.he premise of 'The Great Virtual Olympic Adventure' is that Spike (a virtual Thorny Devil) and Eddie (a virtual Frilled-Neck Lizard) have won a competition, the prize being a virtual trip to the Sydney 2000 Olympics. They will be staying in the Athlete's village, and will have a limited number of tokens entitling them to attend their choice of Olympic sessions. Eddie and Spike are entitled to bring two people with them on their virtual trip. Students are to research the Olympic Games ( via the links provided in this site, the Internet, books, magazines or any other media) then develop a plan which includes: 1. a summary of their general olympic knowledge, 2. travel arrangements for getting from their home location to Sydney, 3. a daily plan of events they would like to virtually attend, 4. budgeting of tokens, and 5. the total amount of money they would need for travel, food, incidentals etc.
