Welcome to my homepage. I am a graduate of Kent State University, with additional course work at Akron University, Ashland University, and Walsh University. I've taught art from the kindergarten level through high school, working with students with special needs, as well as the gifted. I currently teach at Clearmount School and the Early Childhood Center.
My husband, Bob and I have three children and two granddaughters.
Our daughter, Danielle is married to Matt and they have just welcomed their 1st child, Emily Grace. Danielle teaches third grade in the Westerville Schools in the Columbus area. Britany is married to Jake and they have two beautiful daughters, 11-year-old Makayla and 2-year-old Mia.. Britany is a PTA and a personal trainer. Jon is a junior at Akron University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently doing an internship with Bridgestone Firestone.Nikita is our black lab who keeps everything crazy at our house.
Students in grades 1 through 5 have art every week for 45 minutes.
In each lesson, I try to incorporate some knowledge of art history, specific art skills, the opportunity to create and self evaluate and integration with other subject areas. Facilitating students to become creative thinkers and problem solvers is one of my main goals. I feel these skills will serve them well in all areas of their lives.
The students work in a variety of media including paint, pencil, ink, markers, construction paper, tissue paper, paper mache,fibers, and clay. I feel privileged to work with your children and learn from THEM daily! If you are a Clearmount parent or grandparent and would like to volunteer in the art room, please e-mail me!
