Welcome and thank you for taking an interest in your child's art experience. My name is Miss Denise Boyd and I am the new art teacher here at Orchard Hill. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself.
I am single and have a 5 year old Golden Retriever named Bella. In my spare time I enjoy playing with my dog, playing softball, working outdoors, and fixing up my home. I currently have a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Akron and have recently acquired my Master's Degree of Science in Education to teach Visual Arts also from the University of Akron.
I have been an accomplished designer for the last 12+ years and have worked in a variety of settings. I have found in recent years that my love for art has changed directions and has gone from producing art as a profession to sharing my knowledge of art with others. It is truly my pleasure to share my knowledge daily with your child.
Your daughter/son has art every week for 45 minutes and will be given the opportunity to learn about some incredible artists and their artwork. Your child will also acquire art skills in a variety of media and will be able to employ self expression and creativity. My art room is a relaxed, academic atmosphere and one that I hope your child feels comfortable in and will have fun.
