Mrs. Marchand
Physical Education at Northwood Elementary

Welcome to my homepage!

This is my 30th year of teaching physical education in the North Canton City School District.  I received my bachelor's degree from Kent State University and my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from Cleveland State University.

I have been married 27 years to my husband Tom.  We have three children - Elizabeth, who is a graduate student at The University of Toledo (physical therapy); Geoff, a student at Stark State (physical therapy assistant program); and Greg who is a junior at Jackson High School and plays high school and club soccer.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy practicing what I preach - fitness!  I participate in group cycling, lifting weights, zumba, and turbo kick.  I also run for 40-50 minutes two to three days per week with plans on entering several road runs this year in the Ohio Challenge Series (senior citizens division, of course!).  Reading, cross-stitching, and watching my son's soccer matches fill the rest of my "leisure" time.

Please contact me (e-mail or phone) with any questions/concerns you may have.

We do not stop exercising because we grow old - we grow old because we stop exercising.
