I AM THRILLED TO BE TEACHING READING!!
I graduated from Walsh University in 1992 and have been teaching at the middle school level ever since! Much of that time was spent working with students with learning disabilities. For the past several years, I have been teaching 7th grade reading.
Reading has always been a passion of mine, and I read almost anything I can get my hands on. Motivating your children to read and experience all that reading has to offer is important to me. One of my goals is to create lifelong readers. We learn and grow through literature. Where else would you get to lounge on a veranda with a mongoose? How else would you come to realize that there is not much worse in life than being a shadow child who has to be hidden all the time?
ONLY THROUGH A BOOK!
What do I do when I am not teaching or reading? I enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married for sixteen years and I have two daughters with boundless energy that keep me quite busy! Kiersten is in middle school. (Yes, I know middle school well!) Morgan is eight and into everything! We all love spending time in the sun. Much of our time is spent at softball, soccer, boating, and just relaxing.
My philosophy stems from the fact that we are all here for the children. The only way that we can be successful is to hold hands and stick together. We are a team, and your child is the most important player. With us working together, there is no way that we cannot succeed.
I look forward to a wonderful year!
