Congratulations
to Northwood School
Here are the Character Count essay winners representing Northwood School,
January 2008. They are with their teachers and nominating Art Teacher,
Mrs. Croley.
Northwood Elementary has been recognized as one of the State Superintendent's
Schools of Distinction for 2005-2006. The School's of Distinction
program is designed to recognize schools in which a high percentage of
all students, including students with disabilities, show outstanding performance
on statewide assessments. Mr. Griffiths and teacher Karen Spalding
are seen here with Mr. Gallina after receiving the award in Columbus in
October.

Also, congratulations to Mrs. LeAnne Nelson, Northwood Secretary, who was
recognized at the People of Character Recognition Reception held on Thursday,
October 19th. Individuals receiving this award exemplify the
six pillars of Character which are: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility,
Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
Additionally they shape the minds and lives of Stark County children.
Mix 94.1 celebrated Stark County educators at the Mix 94.1 and Carrabba’s
Italian Grill Education Celebration Banquet held at the R. G. Drage Career
Center. Recognized to the All-County Teaching team from North Canton
City Schools was Robert Hutchison, Grade 2 Northwood.
