The National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) has published a set of standards for Physical Education students to accomplish. Our school district's Elementary Physical Education Curriculum follows these standards. In following these guidelines, the students at Orchard Hill are continually working in the following areas during Physical Education Class.

1st Grade Basic Movement Skills: Walking, Jogging, Hopping, Skipping, Galloping, Jumping, Sliding and Jumprope Skills. Manipulative Skills: Throwing, Catching, Striking and Kicking.
2nd Grade

Rhythmic Activities (Dances) in Conjunction with our Multi-cultural Games from the following nations:

Mexico: La Raspa
Germany: German Clapping Dance
Italy: Tarantella
France: Chimes of Dunkirk
U.S.A.: Cotton Eye Joe
Russia: Troika
China: Ribbon Dance
Argentina: Macarena
Greece: Zorba the Greek

3rd Grade Developed various Warm-ups (Hands-Up, Dice Rolling Warm-Ups, Individual Group Lead exercises), Particpate in veraious fitness activities and sport lead up games, and are learning our skeletal system.
4th Grade - Individual Sports Units of Bowling and Tennis. They have also begun work on learning about the various components of a Healthy-Physically Fit Person.
5th Grade - Team Sports Units of Basketball, Volleyball and Stick Invasion gems.. (Also Games from our Native Indian Tribes.) Participate in PE Central Challenge activities.
